This compromises children's safety. n The childminder does not provide children with a healthy, balanced and nutritious range of foods for snacks and meals. She is unaware how some foods may affect children's good oral health. For example, she regularly provides children with crisps, biscuits and raisins. In addition, the childminder provides confectionery items as a reward for good behaviour. n The childminder has made changes to her premises to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose. She ensures that identified fire exits are free of obstruction. This provision does not meet requirements
n The childminder knows the possible signs of abuse and neglect. She knows the procedure to follow should she have any concerns about a child's welfare. The childminder understands wider safeguarding issues, such as the risk to children of being exposed to extremist thoughts and beliefs. n The childminder demonstrates an adequate knowledge of how to support children's learning and development. In discussion, she explains how she will build children's knowledge through their interests, to help them be ready for the next stage in their learning and the move to school. n The childminder recognises the importance of working in partnership with parents and other professionals, including other settings children may attend. She explains how she gathers information from parents to help establish what children know and can do when they start.
p.2
This provision does not meet requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
