p.1
This monitoring visit
Staff spoken to during the visit demonstrate that they understand their roles and responsibilities in keeping the child safe. Staff demonstrate a good understanding of the child’s risks and how to manage these. One member of staff did share his concern about consistent staff practice. This is in respect of all staff following the child’s plans. This was addressed with the registered manager, who agreed to take further action to address this with the staff team to ensure consistent practice. This did not have an impact on the action that the registered manager has taken to improve safeguarding practice in the home. However, a requirement will remain under regulation 12 to ensure that consistency is further embedded into practice. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: SC022464 2 The provider has taken action to address the damage in the child’s bedroom. The quality of management-monitoring tools and review systems has improved. The registered manager has implemented several tools and documents to help her monitor and review the child’s overall progress and experiences. The registered manager has discussed the new systems with the staff team. Team meeting minutes demonstrate that the registered manager ensured that the staff team understood the new systems and strategies in place to improve the care that they provide for the child.

This monitoring visit
Staff have received training that is relevant to the child’s needs. This includes self- injurious behaviour, de-escalation, and fabricated and induced illness.

This monitoring visit
The provider has taken sufficient action to meet the steps in in compliance notices under regulations 12 and 13. However, some of the improvements need to be further embedded into practice. Therefore, a requirement under regulation 12 will remain in place. The other requirements were not considered at this visit. These requirements will be reviewed at the next full inspection.
