Summary of outcome
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
p.1
Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 25 May 2021, we carried out an inspection and found the childminder was not meeting some of the requirements of the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage'. The overall effectiveness of the provision was judged to be inadequate requiring enforcement. The inspection report sets out the actions the childminder was required to take to meet the requirements.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We also suspended the childminder's registration because we believe children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for Ofsted to make further enquiries and for the childminder to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 28 June 2021, we carried out a regulatory visit. The focus of the visit was to check the childminder had met the safeguarding and welfare actions, raised at their previous inspection. During the visit, we found the childminder had records for minded children, which included their names, parents' details and emergency contact numbers. The childminder had also provided Ofsted with information about a household member, so checks could be completed on this individual. The childminder confirmed that she had shared her mobile phone policy with her assistants. She also advised that her policy would be fully implemented to ensure children's safety. However, we found the childminder had not met the remaining actions set out in the requirements notice. We have therefore served a further welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the childminder to take the actions below within the timescales set out. The childminder will be able to give

p.2
Summary of outcome
We took steps to cancel the childminder's registration. On 2 August 2021, the childminder objected to us taking this step. The childminder also requested to resign her registration from the Early Years Register. Having heard the childminder's reasons for objecting to this step and accepting her decision to resign from the Early Years Register, we have decided not to proceed with cancellation. The childminder has demonstrated that she is able to meet the requirements of the Childcare Register. Therefore, Ofsted will allow her to remain registered on both parts of the Childcare Register only.
