This monitoring visit
A monitoring visit carried out on 25 March 2021 found that there were serious failings that had an impact on the care, well-being and safety of children. As a result, compliance notices were issued. Two further monitoring visits took place on 4 May 2021 and 23 June 2021 respectively. On both visits the compliance notices were re-issued. The purpose of this visit was to assess and monitor the home’s compliance with the notices served.

This monitoring visit
No new children have left or moved into the home since the last visit.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This visit found that the home has taken appropriate steps to ensure that the two compliance notices are fully met. Practice has improved and ensures that children are better protected, safer and consistency of care is being provided.

Children’s risk assessments now include all known risks and vulnerabilities and the actions required to be taken by staff to reduce or eliminate those risks. The documents have been reformatted and individualised and are accessible to all relevant staff across children’s services. Regular reviews and updates are carried out by staff and are overseen by managers to ensure that they remain relevant. p.2
This monitoring visit
The impact risk assessment is now fit for purpose. The document now includes a section on the impact and compatibility of children living together. The value of this addition has not been tested as no new children have moved into the home.
