p.1

The provision is outstanding

Children show high levels of motivation and interest in their learning. During the inspection, children were observed playing in the garden. They brimmed with excitement as they played with water and sand. The childminder supported children to learn about how they can make bigger splashes in the water by dropping balls of increasing weight. This ignites their curiosity and they delighted in making bigger and bigger splashes. As the water runs down their faces, children squealed with delight as they repeated the activity over and over again.

p.2

The provision is outstanding

Children are confident individuals who are eager to initiate conversation and talk about things that interest them, such as going on a train ride. Children are making excellent progress in development, particularly in their communication and language skills. The childminder assesses their development and through her very well-structured curriculum, she helps children to make rapid progress in all areas of learning.

p.2

The provision is outstanding

Children move around the childminder's house with confidence and a sense of purpose. By choosing activities from photograph cards, children can take control of their learning. They approach each challenge with a can-do attitude, such as when rolling up a car play mat at tidy up time. They work successfully together, pondering problems and working out solutions. This demonstrates their excellent social skills and voracious appetite for learning.

This shows their familiarity and interest in books and their developing good speech and language. n The childminder successfully weaves mathematical teaching into activities. She encourages children to count and they sing traditional nursery rhymes using their fingers and toes. As a result, children are confident in using mathematical

they put their imaginary cake into the toy oven. They open the door cautiously, before saying the cake is not ready and needs more time to cook. This shows their ability to understand multiple different concepts as they build on what they know and can do. n The childminder is ambitious in her drive to provide the very best quality of care and education for children. She evaluates her training to improve the positive impact that it has on her practice. The childminder establishes close and highly effective working relationships with parents and other settings that children attend. Together, this ensures that children have excellent support and encouragement.

p.3

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

p.3

Safeguarding

The childminder's excellent safeguarding knowledge stems from her commitment to updating and enhancing her knowledge. She seeks out training opportunities that are most relevant to the children and communities she cares for. As a result, she has a deep awareness of issues that can suggest children might be at risk of harm. The childminder has significant knowledge of the work of her local safeguarding children partnerships. This enables her to understand when and how, to refer any concerns about children's welfare. The childminder reviews her accident record and takes steps to continually improve the safety within her home.
