Summary of outcome

Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

p.1

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 19 February 2020 the provider notified us of two significant events. We discussed this with the provider and established that she had failed to notify Ofsted of these events within the required timescale. We identified a further significant event she had failed to notify Ofsted of. This is a requirement of her registration.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 27 July 2020 and 3 August 2020 we carried out regulatory telephone calls with the provider. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements and had failed to notify Ofsted of three more significant events. We served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that required the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 21 August 2020 we visited the provider to check whether they had met the actions. We found that the provider had met some of the actions but not others. The provider had improved her knowledge of wider safeguarding issues and the procedures for managing allegations. However, she had failed to notify Ofsted of a change to household members. We therefore served another welfare requirements notice.

p.2

Summary of outcome

On 11 and 14 December 2020 we carried out a regulatory telephone call to check whether the provider had met the actions. We found that the provider had not met the actions. Also, during the call we found a new area of concern. This means that the provider was not meeting another requirement as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. Additionally, we found that the provider had failed to notify Ofsted of two more significant events, and of a change to her circumstances within the required timescale. We therefore served another welfare requirements notice. Actions needed by 18 January 2021:

p.3

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.3

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
