The environment is warm and welcoming for children, with a varied range of stimulating activities. Staff ensure they provide exciting learning experiences linked to all children's interests and abilities. Staff involve children when deciding what new resources to buy. Older children comment that they would like more access to electronic games and devices, which the manager is organising for them. This helps to promote children's confidence in sharing their views and feelings.

This provision meets requirements
Children talk about what they enjoy doing at the setting. For example, they say they really like the range of craft activities. Children experiment with colour mixing and making patterns on filter paper. They also enjoy playing outside and planting seeds and watering flowers. Staff encourage and praise children's own ideas. For example, when children suggest decorating plant pots, staff provide the resources. This helps to promote children's self-esteem.

need to do better?
n Children plan and organise their play with confidence and independence. They make good use of the resources available to support their emerging ideas and creativity. For example, older children wait patiently for their paintings to dry before adding extra details, such as seeds onto strawberries. This shows that children are creative and patient and have good ideas about what they want to do and how to implement their ideas and creativity. n Children's language, communication and thinking skills are well promoted by staff. For example, children ask when snack time is, so staff encourage a discussion about time. This helps children to consider the clock and how many minutes it will be until snack time and lunch time. n Staff have high expectations for every child and offer an inclusive provision. They work well in partnership with parents and carers to ensure they meet children's individual needs. Staff also have high expectations for behaviour and

2 June 2021 excited to attend the setting. Parents like that the setting is safe and secure. They also comment positively about the wide range of activities and learning experiences provided for the children. n Procedures for dropping-off and collecting children at the setting changed during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The new procedure is well established by all and promotes children's safety. n Staff have a positive attitude towards continuous professional development. They have accessed a variety of training and development courses since the last inspection. However, leaders and managers do not always monitor the effectiveness of staff training to evaluate what has been learnt. Staff state they feel well supported at work and benefit from regular supervision procedures.

Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
p.3
Safeguarding
Staff have made significant improvement since the last inspection. All staff have revisited and refreshed their child protection knowledge. They have done this by completing safeguarding children training courses, including training around some of the wider aspects of child abuse. All staff know how to keep children safe and all are aware of the procedures to follow if they have any concerns about children or about adults working with children.
