Summary of outcome

Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

p.1

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The childminder was registered as part of the virtual registration event policy on 21 October 2020. Although the premises were observed virtually at the time of registration, we are required to ensure that the premises are safe and suitable for childminding. We made numerous attempts to contact the childminder to arrange a short site visit. Despite these attempts, the childminder failed to make herself available for these checks to take place. Therefore, we are not assured that that the premises are safe and suitable for childminding and we took steps to cancel the childminder's registration. The childminder had a right to appeal to the Health Education and Social Care First-tier Tribunal, but chose not to appeal. The childminder's registration is therefore cancelled.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
