Summary of outcome

Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

p.1

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 15 April 2021, we received concerns that the provider was not meeting some of these requirements. On 19 April 2021, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We have served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.1

Summary of outcome

-take all reasonable steps to ensure children in your care are not exposed to risks, and demonstrate how you are managing risks in relation to road safety and school drop off and collection routines. In addition, ensure that storage units in the playroom do not pose a hazard to children

p.1

Summary of outcome

-ensure that staffing arrangements meet the needs of all children, to maintain their safety and welfare. For example, by ensuring that assistants are appropriately deployed, particularly when more than three children in the early years age range are present

p.1

Summary of outcome

-keep an accurate daily record of the names of the children being cared for on the premises and their hours of attendance.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We visited the provider again on 10 May 2021 and found that they had taken appropriate action to comply with the welfare requirements notice. Some unsecured storage units have been removed to ensure a safer environment for children. The provider's assistant now accompanies them at school drop off and collection times, which promotes children's safety. In addition, the provider has reduced the number of young children they care for, at times when they are not supported by their assistant. Attendance records are accurately maintained and also now include the times that the provider's assistant is working with them. We are satisfied with the action taken.
