Summary of outcome

Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

p.1

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 18 September 2020, the provider notified us about a significant event that impacts on her childminding. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage' to notify Ofsted of a significant event which is likely to affect the suitability of the early years provider.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We have suspended the provider's registration because we believe children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the provider to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The provider has a right to appeal against a suspension. The provider may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 9 October 2020, we carried out an announced regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We have issued an action for the provider to take. At the visit we found a new concern. We found that the provider had failed to notify Ofsted of additional significant events, which is a requirement of their registration. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. Actions needed by 30 November 2020:

ensure a paediatric first-aid certificate is held and is renewed every three years.

p.2

Summary of outcome

On 24 November 2020, the provider notified us that she had completed a paediatric first-aid training course. We are satisfied with the action taken. The provider is still registered with Ofsted, but remains suspended while our investigation continues.

p.2

Summary of outcome

On 19 March 2020 we concluded our investigation. We are satisfied with the steps taken by the provider to reduce or eliminate potential risks to children and we have lifted the provider's suspension. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
