Information about this children’s home
This home is operated by a private company and is registered to provide care and accommodation for one child who may have social and/or emotional difficulties. Currently, there is no child living in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The home was judged to require improvement to be good at the full inspection in June 2019. The home was judged to have declined in effectiveness at the interim inspection in November 2019.
p.1
This monitoring visit
An assurance visit took place on 28 and 29 September 2020. At this visit, widespread and serious concerns in relation to the care and protection of children and the leadership and management of the home were identified. The home’s registration was suspended on 30 September 2020 and two compliance notices were issued.
p.1
This monitoring visit
A monitoring visit took place in November 2020. At that visit, the compliance notices were considered met. However, as improvements were in their infancy and staff recruitment was ongoing, Ofsted imposed an urgent notice on 5 November 2020 to vary the conditions of registration of the home to care for one child.
p.1
This monitoring visit
On 8 December 2020, a further monitoring visit took place to review the urgent notice. Limited progress had been made, with six of the nine requirements issued in September 2020 being reissued. The urgent variation to conditions of registration remained in place.
p.1
This monitoring visit
A further monitoring visit took place in January 2021, to review the urgent notice. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2494881 2 The purpose of this monitoring visit on 1 March 2021 was to review the urgent notice to vary conditions of registration. Since the January 2021 visit, another member of staff has resigned and left the home. The team of staff consists of three support workers, all of whom remain redeployed at another home in the company.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Both the registered manager and responsible individual told the inspector that they are not in a position for children to move into the home.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Four of the five requirements were either not met or Ofsted was unable to assess the provider’s progress in meeting them as there is not a child living in the home.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Following this visit, four requirements were reissued and the urgent variation to the condition of registration remained in place.
