This home is registered to provide care for one young person. It is one of a small group of homes run by a private company.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This visit was completed remotely given the restrictions on travel and contact during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Following recent safeguarding notifications to Ofsted, and given the short time since registration, the visit established whether the staff team is keeping the young person safe. Video technology was used to see and speak to the young person who lives at the home, the registered manager and the staff.
p.1
This monitoring visit
With the support of therapists and managers, staff have built up a strong and trusting relationship with the young person living at the home. This creates a nurturing environment and the young person is safer because of it.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The manager and staff assess known risks well and have developed practical guidance that keeps the young person safe. During recent events, staff have responded calmly and quickly and managed risky situations well. The young person has been fully included in learning from these incidents.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Staff are supported well through regular reflective supervision, mentoring and training. The registered manager ensures that less-experienced staff members benefit from extra support when incidents take place.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Incident reports, regulation 44 visits and supervision notes are comprehensive and show thorough consideration of how safeguarding incidents could have been managed differently. However, they can lack challenge and clear actions for how to anticipate risk as well as respond to it. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2609490 2
