The staffing levels in the home are high, with three staff working on each shift to care and support three children and young people. The children and young people are closely supervised, particularly where there are concerns about their safety and well-being. This ensures that children are protected from harm. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: SC482419 2 There is a full staff team, with the use of a residential bank worker who covers routinely. The staff team are experienced, and the majority have worked at the home for a considerable time. This makes sure that the children and young people receive consistent care from staff that know them well.

This monitoring visit
After serious incidents, where required, changes to approaches and practices are made to better support the children and young people. The staff undertake direct work with the children and young people. These discussions cover topics such as managing emotions, inappropriate behaviour, bullying and self-harm. In addition, other professionals, including the children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), work with the children and young people. This assists the children and young people to better understand their feelings and behaviours.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The home is clean, tidy and furnished to a high standard. Most rooms are suitably decorated. The children and young people have bedrooms that are personalised and reflect their interests and choices. However, several rooms have small areas of decoration, plaster and paint work damage. This is evident in the lounge, dining room and two bedrooms. This detracts from the overall positive environment that the children and young people live in.
