The manager has demonstrated strong leadership and management of the home over a challenging period. These challenges include supporting the staff to keep young people with complex needs safe during the pandemic, and building and managing a relatively new staff team.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The manager and staff team have at times been challenged by the behaviours of the young people. That said, the staff team has remained child focused in its approach and staff have demonstrated resilience. A staff member spoke extremely positively of the support and guidance they have received from the manager during this period. Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2573614 2 Records of incidents show the actions taken by the staff to support the young people and confirm that, on each occasion, the information is appropriately shared with professionals, and risk assessments are updated. When the manager has identified that staff have not followed safeguarding procedures, there is good evidence of senior leaders and managers taking swift action.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The current staff team is a mix of experienced members and some that are relatively new to the role.
