Summary of outcome

Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

p.1

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage . If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 22 January 2021 we carried out a new registration visit for the provider. During the visit we found that the provider was not meeting some of the requirements relating to her current, childminder registration.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We have issued actions for the provider to take. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.1

Summary of outcome

-ensure your safeguarding children policy and procedure is in line with the guidance and procedures of the relevant Local Safeguarding Children Partnership and includes an explanation of the action to be taken in the event of an allegation being made against a member of staff

p.1

Summary of outcome

-take all reasonable steps to ensure staff and children in your care are not exposed to risks and demonstrate how you are managing risks. For example, in relation to the garden, glass in the hallway, the storage of cleaning materials, accessibility of fire control equipment and the stability of storage units in the bottom playroom.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The provider has responded to the actions notice and has updated their safeguarding children policy and procedure to be in line with the guidance and procedures of the relevant Local Safeguarding Children Partnership.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The provider has also taken appropriate steps to ensure staff and children in their care are not exposed to risks. For example, they have conducted a risk assessment for the garden, covered low level glass with a protective safety film and ensured that cleaning products are not accessible to children. They have also ensured that a fire extinguisher and fire blanket are easily accessible for adults, and that storage units in a playroom have been secured to the wall.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We are satisfied the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
