Summary of outcome
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
p.1
Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right. On 11 December we received a notification from the provider that a child was released to a person not known to staff without obtaining prior permission from parents. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of significant events.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 15 December 2020 we carried out a regulatory telephone call. We found the provider was not meeting a requirement and had taken action to put this right. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We found that, although the person had been asked by the parent to collect the child, staff had not followed the settings policy to contact parents to confirm the child can be released to a person not known to them. The provider took prompt action to ensure staff were clear on the correct procedure and put in place new checks to ensure that staff continue to remain clear on the collection policy in the future. The provider also sent reminders to parents regarding notifying the setting of new persons collecting children. We are satisfied that the provider has taken appropriate action to meet this requirement. As a result, we took no further action.
