Summary of outcome

Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulatory early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child-centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

p.1

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage . If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure that they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 13 October 2020, the provider notified us of an accident. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of such incidents. On 6 November 2020, we received concerns that the provider was not meeting some of these requirements.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 14 December 2020, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found that the provider had effective health and safety procedures in place, all staff had completed safeguarding training, and that accidents were monitored correctly. We also found that the adult:child ratios were met and all staff had a valid paediatric first-aid qualification. Additionally, the provider was taking the correct level of precautions regarding the national COVID-19 guidelines. The provider had reviewed the accident and had already amended the nursery's accident form to include greater detail of any future injury.

p.1

Summary of outcome

However, when reviewing the safeguarding policy, we found that the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We issued actions for the provider to take. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.

p.1

Summary of outcome

Actions needed by 21 December 2020: n review and amend the safeguarding policy to include correct reference to the Local Safeguarding Children Partnership and not the Local Safeguarding Children Board

p.1

Summary of outcome

n review and amend the safeguarding policy to have regard to the correct version of the national guidance document, 'Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018'

p.2

Summary of outcome

n review and amend the safeguarding policy to include the requirement to notify Ofsted of any allegations made against staff, within 14 days.

p.2

Summary of outcome

The provider has amended their safeguarding policy. We are satisfied that the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
