Summary of outcome
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
p.1
Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right. On 27 November 2020, we received concerns that this provider was not meeting some of these requirements. We carried out an unannounced visit on 4 December 2020, where we found the provider breached the Early Years Foundation Stage safeguarding and welfare requirements relating to Suitable Person. In addition, a requirement relating to the childcare register had also been breached.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We found that the provider had left children in sole charge of a person whose suitability had not been checked by Ofsted. The individual did however have appropriate qualifications and a criminal records check. That said, Ofsted had not conducted suitability checks on this individual to verify their suitability. The provider can give parents more information about this.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We have served the provider with a notice of action to improve which requires them to take the following action:
p.1
Summary of outcome
ensure you do not leave children alone with any person whose suitability has not been checked by Ofsted by 7 December 2020.
p.1
Summary of outcome
ensure you are present at all times when providing childcare – the only exception to this is if you have a childminding assistant, whose suitability has been checked by Ofsted, who can look after children for up to 2 hours a day if parents or carers have given permission by 7 December 2020.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider has taken satisfactory action to meet the actions and has an assistant registering with Ofsted. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
