Summary of outcome
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
p.1
Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage . If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 9 November 2020, we received concerns that the provider was not meeting some of these requirements. On 10 November 2020, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not operating at all times under the conditions of her childminding registration but had taken action to put this right. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider reviewed their employment of childminding assistants and ensured that they only work with a maximum of two assistants at any one time.
p.1
Summary of outcome
Additionally, we found that the provider was not meeting further requirements. We have served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.
p.1
Summary of outcome
Actions needed by 27 November 2020: n ensure assistants have up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding issues that may include neglect or abuse outside the setting, for example child exploitation or female genital mutilation, including the 'Prevent duty guidance for England and Wales 2015'
p.1
Summary of outcome
n ensure that Ofsted is provided with the information needed in order to make sure that any person living on the premises is suitable.
p.2
Summary of outcome
On 30 November we carried out a monitoring visit. We found that the provider had supported assistants to improve their knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues, such as child exploitation, female genital mutilation and the 'Prevent duty guidance for England and Wales 2015'. In addition, the provider has improved her knowledge with regard to ensuring that Ofsted is informed of any person living on the childminding premises. We are satisfied the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
p.2
