Summary of outcome
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
p.1
Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 19 June 2019, we carried out an inspection and found the provider was not meeting some of these requirements. The overall effectiveness of the provision was judged to be requires improvement. The inspection report sets out the actions the provider was asked to take to meet the requirements.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 10 September 2020, while routine inspections were suspended, we carried out an interim visit. The focus of the visit was to check whether the provider had met the safeguarding and welfare actions, raised at their last inspection.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We found the provider had met some of the safeguarding and welfare actions but not others.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We found that the provider had taken steps to promote the good health of children, including at meal times, therefore this action has been met.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider had, however, failed to identify the risks posed by unsafe storage of equipment therefore this action has not been met.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We have therefore served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the action below within the timescales set out. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
p.1
Summary of outcome
- ensure that effective risk assessments are in place to identify and minimise risks in the environment to keep children safe.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On the 12 October 2020 we carried out a monitoring visit. The provider has failed to ensure that an effective system of risk assessment is in place, therefore this action has not been met.
p.1
Summary of outcome
Additionally, during the visit, we found a new area of concern. This means that the provider was not meeting other requirements as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage.
p.2
Summary of outcome
In relation to the new area of concern we have issued an action for the provider to take and served in a welfare requirement notice alongside the previous action.
p.2
Summary of outcome
- ensure that effective risk assessments are in place to identify and minimise risks in the environment to keep children safe
p.2
Summary of outcome
- ensure staff are confident on the action to take if a child has an accident.
p.2
Summary of outcome
On the 2 November we carried out a further monitoring visit. The provider demonstrated how they effectively minimised risks in the environment by ensuring equipment is stored safely out of children's reach. The provider explained that all staff have completed training to increase their knowledge and understanding of the procedures to be followed when a child has an accident. This includes a robust process for informing parents and carers of any accident and injury.
p.2
Summary of outcome
We are satisfied the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
