The care of children
Children have positive and strong relationships with staff. Relationships are built on mutual trust, honesty and respect. Children talk to staff about their worries and concerns and staff take action to support them and keep them safe. Children who live here say that this helps them feel loved and cared for.
p.2
The care of children
Children are making progress in all aspects of their lives. They are attending education and have aspirations for their future. One child has been focusing on becoming more independent. This provides them with a sense of achievement and pride.
p.2
The care of children
Children are fully involved in decisions that may have an impact on them. Conversations between the adults and children take place before any decisions are made. For example, good planning and the inclusion of children supported their recent house move, which was positive.
p.2
The safety of children
Children say they feel safe living here. They can identify several adults who they can talk to in an open and honest way. Children know that staff will act to keep them safe, and this helps them feel loved and cared for.
p.2
The safety of children
Children are supported to take age-appropriate risks. For example, staff were aware of a plan to consume alcohol following GCSE exam results. The strategies put in place ensured that risks were managed.
p.2
The safety of children
Staff understand what the risks for children are and manage them well. Children have access to specialist services to help them understand risky behaviours. This, coupled with open conversations with staff, helps reduce the risks for children.
p.2
The safety of children
Appropriate risk assessments are in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19. Visitors complete a questionnaire before entering the home. Appropriate discussions take place with children to support them to keep safe.
p.2
Leaders and managers
There is an experienced manager in post. They are yet to complete an application for registration with Ofsted.
p.2

As a result, children are receiving care that meets their current and emerging needs.
