Summary of outcome

Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

p.1

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage . If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 23 September 2020, we received concerns that the provider was not meeting some of these requirements. We suspended the provider's registration because we believed children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the provider to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The provider has a right to appeal against a suspension. The provider may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 7 October 2020, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We have served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.

p.1

Summary of outcome

n ensure that children are adequately supervised and adults caring for children are appropriately deployed to meet children's needs n ensure children are always within sight or hearing

p.1

Summary of outcome

n assess the risks or hazards which may arise for children during outings and identify the steps to be taken to remove, minimise and manage those risks and hazards in order to keep children safe

p.2

Summary of outcome

n review and improve policies and procedures with regard to the use of mobile phones and cameras

p.2

Summary of outcome

n obtain records and information from parents in order to fulfil responsibilities under the Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998

p.2

Summary of outcome

On 13 October 2020 we lifted the suspension because the provider took appropriate action to deal with the matter that led to the suspension and we are satisfied that there is now no risk of harm to children.

p.2

Summary of outcome

On 28 October 2020, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found that the provider had improved their risk assessments and procedures for transporting children in a car. These include the steps they would take if a child fell asleep in the car and how risks to children's safety and well-being will be minimised. This includes ensuring that children are always adequately supervised and remain within sight or hearing of the provider or their assistants. The provider has amended their policy and procedures and has updated permission slips for parents to agree to how and by whom, mobile phones and cameras are used. This demonstrates the providers improved understanding of how to maintain confidentiality in order to keep children safe in their care.

p.2

Summary of outcome

We are satisfied the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.2
