Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage www.gov.uk/government/publications/early- yearsfoundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 27 May 2020, we received concerns that the childminder was not meeting some of these requirements. The childminder failed to notify Ofsted of significant events. This is a requirement of registration. We suspended the registration of the childminder as we had concerns regarding her suitability and ability to ensure the safety and welfare of children.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 26 August 2020 we visited the childminder and found that the grounds for suspension no longer apply. On 4 September 2020 we lifted the suspension. However, during our discussion with the childminder we found she did not demonstrate a sufficiently robust understanding of the procedures to safeguard children.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We have served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out.

p.1

Summary of outcome

ensure you have the required knowledge to be alert to any issues of concern in a child's life at home or elsewhere and how to follow a policy to safeguard children which is in line with the guidance and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children Partnership. By 30 October 2020.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We will monitor the welfare requirement notice. The childminder will be able to give parents further information about this. On 5 November 2020 we monitored the welfare requirement notice. We found that the provider had taken action to access training to refresh her knowledge and understanding of safeguarding. She now demonstrates a suitable understanding of her roles and responsibilities to safeguard and protect children in her home or elsewhere.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
