Summary of outcome

Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

p.1

Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 9 August 2019, we carried out an inspection and found the provider was not meeting some of these requirements. The overall effectiveness of the provision was judged to be inadequate. The inspection report sets out the actions the provider was asked to take to meet the requirements.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 22 September 2020, while routine inspections were suspended, we carried out an interim visit. The focus of the visit was to check whether the provider had met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised at their last inspection.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We found that the provider had improved their knowledge and understanding of child protection procedures and fully understands their responsibilities.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The provider and the management team have reviewed security procedures to ensure that no unauthorised visitors are able to access the premises.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The provider has improved the nursery's outdoor area. The managers and staff ensure the areas used by children are safe and suitable and that any potential hazards are swiftly removed.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The provider and senior management team have implemented supervision arrangements for all staff. This helps managers and staff to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfil their roles.

p.2

Summary of outcome

The provider and management team now carefully check that there are sufficient numbers of staff present to meet requirements. This ensures that children's welfare and learning is supported throughout the day.

p.2

Summary of outcome

All staff have attended additional training to increase their understanding of the nursery's behaviour management policies. This helps them to teach children how to manage their own feelings and actions in appropriate ways by applying consistent behavioural boundaries.

p.2

Summary of outcome

We are satisfied the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years commencing on the date we complete our investigation.
