Lytham Care Ltd
Monitoring visit Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
This privately owned children’s home provides care for up to five children and young people who have social and/or emotional difficulties. There has been no registered manager in the home since May 2017.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This home was judged as requires improvement to be good at the last full inspection on 11 June 2019, and to have declined in effectiveness at the interim inspection on 11 February 2020. Five requirements were set in relation to education, health and well-being, and leadership and management.
p.1
This monitoring visit
An urgent on-site inspection took place on 17 April 2020 in response to concerns raised with Ofsted via a number of sources. This includes information from the police about safeguarding practice in the home and information sent to Ofsted by the provider. The information raised concerns in connection with the safeguarding and protection of children, inconsistent staffing and the lack of reporting of significant incidents.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The inspectors found that the staff had failed to keep children safe, and there were not sufficient management arrangements in place. As a result, there were several breaches in regulation, and compliance notices were issued under regulation 12 and regulation 13.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection visit in April 2020, the provider made the decision to close the home to new admissions, in order to take some time to rectify the identified breaches of regulation and recruit a suitable manager. Michelle Edge, regulatory inspection manager had a verbal discussion with the provider on 8 July 2020 during Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: SC454035 2 which the provider confirmed that they had not yet completed all the required actions as stated in the compliance notice served on 23 April 2020. Therefore, the compliance notices are re-served.
