Summary of outcome

'All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right. On 10 February 2020 we received concerns that this provider was not meeting some of these requirements. We have served a Notice to Improve. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the action below within the timescales set out. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.'

Summary of outcome

On 9 March 2020, we carried out a regulatory visit and found: members of the staff were unable to demonstrate a suitable knowledge of how to report a concern about a child in their care. Furthermore, when questioned about what they would if they had concerns about a colleague harming children, they were unclear of their responsibility to report such matters to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) and Ofsted. In addition, they could not demonstrate they had a secure up to date knowledge of child protection legislation, including the 'Prevent duty'.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On a tour of the premises it was found that a door leading into the kitchen was wedged open and children could access the cooking area. We also found that the facilities for the preparation of food were not hygienic and food was not stored in line with current hygiene requirements. There were dirty surfaces, unwashed cooking equipment, and an open waste bin in the kitchen. In addition, food was being stored uncovered and on the floor.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We observed children being offered meals and drinks. However, if children did not like the main meal no alternatives were provided. This means children's dietary requirements were not being met and they were not being provided with a healthy balanced and nutritious meal.

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.3

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years commencing on the date we complete our investigation.
