This provision is good
n The childminder provides a welcoming and homely environment for the children and they demonstrate that they are happy and confident in her care. Together children behave well and have good relationships with the childminder. n The childminder knows the children well. She plans and tracks their learning and development successfully and provides a variety of toys and activities to help them make good progress. n The childminder provides healthy and well-balanced snacks and meals. This helps to support children's healthy lifestyle. n Partnerships with parents are strong. For example, the childminder ensures parents receive verbal communication and daily communication books to promote continuity in care. n The childminder has improved her practice since the last inspection, and has addressed previous recommendations well. For example, the childminder now encourages the children to tidy away toys before getting out more to help support learning outcomes.

Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder understands her responsibilities to keep children safe and is confident in the procedures to follow should she have any concerns about a child's welfare. The childminder has good partnerships with parents, and parents comment that their children are happy and that they value the information she shares with them. The childminder has all required documentation, including consents and children's registration documentation, in place and well maintained. Overall, the childminder develops some good knowledge through her own research. For example, she has read literature on relevant early years practice.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder has a good understanding of how children develop and provides a varied range of activities inside and outside of her home to support their ongoing development. For example, she regularly attends local toddler groups and meets with other childminders to help build on children's social skills. The childminder supports children's communication and language skills. For example, she responds to younger children's vocal sounds as they play with cars and sing songs, and asks a good amount of questions to older children to promote their listening and attention skills. The childminder helps children to develop their awareness of letters and sounds well. For instance, she encourages the children to look for their names and uses magnetic letters in children's play to support their early understanding that print carries meaning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are at ease and well behaved in the childminder's care. They benefit from a good amount of praise and encouragement offered to them by the childminder which supports their personal and emotional development. For example, when they share toys she rewards them with verbal praise, such as 'well done' and 'great job'. The childminder teaches children to follow good hygiene practices. For example, she reminds children to follow good handwashing routines. Children have plenty of fresh air and exercise. For instance, the children enjoy regular visits to the parks and walks within the community.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children of all ages make good progress in their learning and development. Children develop good mathematical skills, for example, they enjoy reciting numbers with the childminder in their play and have opportunities to explore with shapes and size as they explore with puzzle parts. Children develop good moving and handling skills. For instance, they enjoy drawing and creating pictures with pens and stickers.
