Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has a clear understanding of safeguarding and knows who to contact if she has any concerns regarding a child's welfare. The childminder completes regular risk assessments and ensures a safe environment to reduce the risk of accidents and incidents. The childminder is well organised and her home is welcoming and well equipped. Children enjoy the wide range of activities that the childminder provides.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder is actively involved as children play. Children have fun as they learn. The childminder joins in with singing, stories, giggles and laughter, creating a relaxed environment where children are keen to explore. The childminder uses her good knowledge of child development to plan challenging activities that extend children's learning. For example, the childminder supports children's physical development well and encourages younger babies to turn and roll as they thoroughly enjoy investigating resources that make different sounds and sensory effects. The childminder encourages mathematical development through relaxed conversations as children play. For example, she counts the number of objects each child has and describes the different shapes they can see.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder responds quickly to babies' needs by sensitively providing warm and consistent care, such as cuddles and smiles to support their emotional well-being. Children benefit from good opportunities to gain fresh air and exercise daily. They enjoy trips to the local park and walks to various local groups. The childminder is consistent with natural praise and encouragement, which helps children to feel confident and settled. She gathers detailed information from parents when children first start. This ensures that children settle in quickly and benefit from consistent experiences at home and in the setting. New children settle well into the calm and nurturing environment.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children are making expected progress in all areas of learning and are working comfortably within the range of development typical for their age. They learn a good range of skills for their next stage of learning and eventual move on to school. Children are developing into enthusiastic learners who are keen to join in with activities. They are learning about the differences between themselves and others through resources that reflect diversity and regular discussions about the wider world in which they live.
