Young people continue to make very good progress in many areas of their development due to receiving well-planned care from a consistent staff team. The staff team is stable, and staff often go beyond their role to help young people to achieve positive outcomes. A strength of the home continues to be the staff’s ability to create a nurturing home environment which replicates family life.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people attend school regularly and achieve their targets. They are in good health, and the staff encourage them to eat healthily and to exercise. They participate in a range of activities, including baking, arts and crafts, cinema, trampolining, roller skating and visits to the zoo. These experiences help to build young people’s confidence and self-esteem.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Since the last inspection, one young person has started living in the home. Partnership working with the social worker, alongside highly effective care planning, ensured a smooth transition. Young people are central to the decision-making process and are fully informed of what is happening. For example, the young people already living here made cards to welcome the new young person.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people enjoy consistency of care and thriving relationships with the staff. The registered manager and two deputy managers are motivated and passionate about delivering high standards of care. Together, they inspire the staff to do their very best work with young people. Social workers are highly complimentary of the care and support provided to young people.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people are very settled and safe living in the home. There have been no incidents of young people going missing from care. Improved written risk management plans are in place, identifying how staff will support young people and manage any areas of individual risk.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Positive reward and recognition are successful in encouraging young people to behave appropriately. As a result, physical interventions have significantly reduced. Furthermore, the theory of attachment is embedded in the culture of the home, which promotes a deeper understanding and meaning of relationships.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
The registered manager and deputy managers ensure that quality assurance systems are in place. For example, effective monitoring of care practice alongside plans for development set the direction for continued improvement. The one requirement from the last inspection is met. Recruitment practice is in line with the principles of safer recruitment that protect young people from unsuitable individuals working in the home. Inspection report children’s home: 2509838 3
