The manager has met the requirements and recommendations made at the full inspection. Key workers regularly review each child’s plan, risk assessment and targets. This helps staff understand how to care for the children and manage risk effectively. Recruitment checks are robust, supervision of staff is recorded, the induction process is consistent for all staff, and a revised behaviour management policy is in place. No new requirements or recommendations are made following this inspection.

Children clearly enjoy coming to stay here. The home is decorated in a variety of colours, there are large numbers of photos of children enjoying activities displayed on the walls and there is a very positive vibe in the home. Children make good progress. Their sleeping patterns and routines have significantly improved, and this leads to improved attention in school and good educational outcomes. Children try a range of different foods, enjoy a range of activities and learn how to interact well with their peers and in the community. Progress is identified in daily records, participation books and using the ‘wow ladder’. This records the little moments and successes of each child. These are shared with school and parents as appropriate, and progress is celebrated by everyone.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Children new to the service are made very welcome. Transition plans are tailored to the individual child. Some will visit several times before staying overnight, and others prefer to stay over straight away. Children who leave do so in a planned way and staff support them to move on to other placements.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
The manager ensures that all children are well matched. As a result, there are few occurrences of poor behaviour, there is no use of restraint and no occasions of children going missing from the home. Any incidents of poor behaviour that have occurred are well documented and the manager ensures that staff learn from these and this keeps children increasingly safe.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
The manager is an excellent role model and is very ‘hands on’. Her presence in the home and involvement in activities means she can continually monitor and assess progress and identify any issues. Her overview of the care and progress is excellent. The independent visitor provides effective challenge and the manager swiftly addresses any concerns. This ensures continual improvement.
