and young people since the most recent full inspection
Children continue to receive good individual care from staff who know them well. Children say they are happy living in the home and that staff listen to them. They make good progress in school and form trusting relationships with staff.
p.2
and young people since the most recent full inspection
Staff and managers continue to work well in partnership with parents and other professionals to ensure that children are protected. They are swift to respond when children display challenging behaviour. This helps to keep children safe.
p.2
and young people since the most recent full inspection
The manager has a good awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of the home. He develops staff practice through reflective learning and sharing of good practice. Staff reflect on incidents that occur and learn from these to improve experiences for children.
p.2
and young people since the most recent full inspection
The requirement made at the last inspection has been met. The recruitment practices of those staff employed through an agency have been strengthened and meet regulation.
p.2
and young people since the most recent full inspection
Staff have not had the necessary skills or training to adequately meet children’s health needs. Although the manager has challenged senior managers, there has been a delay in providing specialist training and equipment to meet children’s health needs. This has the potential to compromise children’s welfare.
p.2
and young people since the most recent full inspection
The home is a warm and welcoming home for children to live in. However, some of the first-floor windows are fitted with external bars. These bars compromise the otherwise homely feel of the house. Inspection report children’s home: SC441514 3
