Children have all made positive progress. Staff have supported them effectively to begin to develop their independence skills. Children’s familial relationships have been promoted well through staff actively supporting children to spend time with their family where possible. This has helped to strengthen children’s individual identity and support their emotional well-being.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Staff have supported children with successful moves on to new placements through well-planned transitions. The individualised approach adopted by staff was child- centred and ensured that they each experienced a positive ending to their placement at the home. Due to staff planning children’s moves effectively into the home, their needs have been well understood. This has ensured that children are provided with individualised care, which has reflected their wishes.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
The registered manager has, where needed, advocated strongly for children’s needs. This has contributed to the successful transition planning for each child. The requirements of the last inspection have all been met. The staff team has been supported effectively by the registered manager through a significant period of change. The staff team members, in turn, have been well supported by the senior leadership team.
p.2

There were, however, two unrelated allegations in relation to separate staff members, which have been found to be substantiated. On the advice of the designated officer, there is a review of one investigation currently being undertaken by the responsible individual. The registered manager has appropriately reflected on the learning points with the member of staff. The registered manager has provided refresher training to address the identified practice issues.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
The second allegation was not directly relating to staff practice with children. However, the nature of this allegation directly impacts on the staff member’s practice in the home. The safeguarding risks identified were not acted upon by the registered manager, nor were they acted upon by the senior leadership team overseeing the investigation into the concerns. There was no risk assessment in place in respect of either allegation. In the second case, the strategies to safeguard children from potential risk were not put in place. However, these were implemented following this interim inspection. Inspection report children’s home: SC482548 3
