The provision is good

Children benefit from playing in the purpose-built cabin in the childminder's garden. They are at home here. Children know where everything is and select resources of their choice confidently. They spend the day playing happily with the childminder and their friends. Children enjoy regular hugs and affection from the childminder. The cabin is safe and secure and the childminder puts effort into creating an inviting space for children to explore. Children's behaviour is exemplary. They learn how to share, take turns and help one another because the childminder teaches them this so well. Children's manners are impeccable. They are polite and remember to say please and thank you. Children offer visitors a warm welcome and are proud to show them their achievements. The childminder has extremely high expectations for children's behaviour. Children have a clear understanding of these expectations because the childminder explains everything to them in an age-

appropriate way. Even the youngest children manage their feelings and behaviour very well and want to help their friends wherever possible. For example, children help each other put their shoes on and wipe their noses. Children are praised highly for their behaviour, manners and achievements. They respond well to this praise and beam with pride when the childminder tells them how proud she is of them and gives them a 'high five'. Any minor disagreements children have are defused quickly by the patient childminder and harmony is restored.

Children identify heart and diamond shapes confidently. This prompts them to sing 'Twinkle twinkle little star' and express themselves creatively. n Children make good progress in their learning because the childminder is a good teacher who makes learning fun.
