The provision is outstanding
Children absolutely thrive in the childminder's superb care. They show that they feel highly valued and much loved as they explore everything that the childminder provides for them. Children show high levels of engagement and well-being. They make excellent progress in their learning and development. This is most remarkable in their personal development.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
Young children are very physically adept for their age. For example, they run from surface to surface and negotiate a step up at pace. Books are plentiful and are used for the enjoyment of reading. They are also used for finding out information by all ages of children. Children show a thirst and eagerness for learning, even at a very young age, and it is this attitude that prepares them extremely well for when the time comes to go to school.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
Children wholeheartedly benefit from the extremely effective partnerships that the childminder has with their parents. Information is shared at every opportunity to ensure a consistent approach and that children make as much progress as they can within a short space of time.

need to do better?
n The childminder has established a wonderful learning environment for children indoors and outside. At every opportunity, the childminder encourages children, even those who are still very young, to develop their independence. For example, she sets up a drinks and personal-care station at their level. Young children independently recognise when they need to blow their nose, fetch a tissue, dispose of it in the bin and sanitise their hands afterwards. This is a routine taught by the childminder stage by stage until they are able to complete the sequence by themselves. n The childminder is highly sensitive to children's individual circumstances, including those that may affect their behaviour. She gives children everything they need to be the very best they can be. Food is beautifully presented and the childminder's meals are something that older children particularly comment about. For example, they say, 'The dinner is the best.'

need to do better?
30 January 2020 to promote their care and learning to the optimum level. Feedback from parents is extremely complimentary. They comment, 'I could not fault anything that she has done for us and would always recommend her service to anyone.' They also say that she has a 'genuine warmth towards the children' and is 'highly professional and organised'. n The childminder has a deep knowledge of how young children learn and the role she plays in helping children achieve the next steps in their learning. Her quality of teaching is exceptional. She confidently observes children at the start of an activity to see what they already know and the direction they take the activity. This is before she uses simple methods to consolidate and extend their learning by asking questions and providing additional resources. For example, she eagerly watches children as they transport natural materials from their toy truck to under a wooden archway, before introducing simple counting and positional

language. n The childminder celebrates children's uniqueness, for example on their birthday, and also provides lots of activities for them to learn about people and communities beyond their own. Children's emotional development is extremely well supported as they begin to understand their feelings and the effect their behaviour may have on others. n The childminder participates in a wealth of training initiatives and webinars. She is completely committed to gaining more and more knowledge and skills, as well as refreshing those she already has. She uses what she learns to evaluate her own practice and to implement lots of ideas for the benefit of those children she cares for. n The safety of children is at the forefront of the childminder's mind. Risk assessments are highly effective. As a result, children can freely move around the ground floor and enjoy their play in safety.
