The provision is good
The childminder provides a safe and caring environment for children. She finds out about their routines, needs and preferences before they join her provision. The childminder uses this information effectively to help children feel secure and settled. Children demonstrate that they are happy in the childminder's care and are reassured by having her nearby. They select resources independently and concentrate well during activities. Children behave well and play harmoniously together, sharing the toys and resources. They learn to make healthy choices about what they eat and enjoy frequent access to outdoor play. This helps them to develop good foundations for enjoying active and healthy lifestyles.

This helps to promote children's language skills effectively. n Children have regular opportunities to learn about numbers, shapes and measurements. For example, as children fill containers with dry pasta, the childminder talks to them about the sizes and shapes of the containers. She encourages children to count as they add more pieces of pasta.
