They develop exceptional skills of perseverance and an excellent can-do attitude. The childminder is skilled at stepping back to encourage children to complete tasks for themselves and find their own solutions. The provision is outstanding
Children become curious and independent learners, demonstrating a positive attitude to their play and learning. They are confident problem solvers. For instance, young children carefully manipulate train pieces to connect their own tracks and explore how many trains they can push through tunnels without making them collapse. Older children develop a strong understanding of mathematical language. The childminder takes every opportunity to skilfully extend activities to encourage children to stretch their knowledge and understanding. For instance, children are extremely engaged as they consider why the triceratops developed its name. They enthusiastically identify that triangles have three points, just like their dinosaur's horns.
