Inspection report children’s home: SC482668 1 SC482668 Registered provider: Hexagon Care Services Limited Interim inspection Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

This home is owned by a private company. It is registered for four young people. The home provides care for young people aged 11 to 17 who have experienced adverse childhood experiences that have led to associated trauma and presenting complex behaviours. A new manager was appointed in November 2019, but she has not yet submitted her application to be registered with Ofsted.

p.1

children and young people since the most recent full inspection

This home was judged good at the last full inspection. At this interim inspection the home was ‘not judged’.

p.2

children and young people since the most recent full inspection

At the time of the interim inspection, there were no children living at the home. As a result, requirements raised at the last inspection could not be reviewed and an inspection judgement could not be made. Some children who were living at the home at the last inspection made significant progress and were reunited with family. However, one young person moved from the home as he was no longer making progress due to an increase in risk-taking behaviours. The remaining children, all staff and the manager moved to a newly registered home owned by the provider. The home is being redecorated and refurbished and the manager is in the process of ensuring that all health and safety checks are up to date and satisfactory. Managers are also in the process of recruiting a new staff team. The provider is in the process of applying to vary the conditions of registration to provide a crisis intervention service for up to four children. This application is

currently being processed by Ofsted. Until a decision is reached about the variation application, work to the environment is completed and sufficient staff are safely recruited, the provider is not admitting children to the home. Inspection report children’s home: SC482668 3
