Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right. On 4 October 2019 we received concerns that this provider was not meeting some of these requirements.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We carried out an announced visit and found that the childminder did not think that she had acted inappropriately during the feedback given to her during her inspection on 3 October 2019. During the visit on 20 November 2019 we considered whether the childminder had met the notices to improve that had been issued at her previous inspection. We felt that the provider was mainly meeting the notices to improve that had been issued in most areas.
p.1
Summary of outcome
However, during our visit we found that children had access to the kitchen although during the previous inspection we had been told that they did not. We observed that children used the dining room when they were not being supervised by the childminder and there were hazards in this room that the childminder had failed to recognise.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We sent the childminder a further notice to improve about making sure risk assessments are sufficient to protect the children in her care. She responded by saying that she had tidied up the dining room as requested and moved the Christmas presents as requested. We needed the childminder to ensure that the areas that children use are safe and suitable so we will consider the steps she has taken at her next inspection. The childminder is aware that how she makes sure that the areas are safe and suitable is her own responsibility and we would not tell her how to do this. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
