Summary of outcome
On 19 November 2019 we received concerns that this provider was not meeting some of these requirements. Concerns related to children having injuries that were not explained. Children seeming to be upset when collected. Children's challenging behaviour not being managed. Children not being given enough food. Children being left with an assistant, possibly for significant periods of time. We carried out an unannounced visit to the setting on the 27 November 2019. We found that the childminder manages any accidents that children have in an appropriate manner. She has procedures in place to inform parents through an online application that they can access at any time. childminder ensures that children have enough to eat. If a child does not want the food they have brought with them, the childminder offers them an alternative. Children are left with an assistant for short periods of time. This is so that nursery and school pickups and drop offs are managed efficiently. Though not part of the original concern the childminder discussed that she has an additional assistant that works with children. This assistant is not known to Ofsted. This means Ofsted have been unable to carry out suitability checks to make sure this assistant is suitable to work with children. The childminder has not measured the available space in her home to make sure that she has sufficient and suitable space to accommodate the numbers of children that she cares for.
