Staff have a good knowledge of children and plan activities that interest, engage and challenge them. This means children really enjoy their time spent in the club with their friends. Children have opportunities to be involved in decision-making about the activities and resources offered. n Partnerships with the host school are good, particularly as some of the club staff also work within the school. Children remain focused for long periods of time. For example, they use their creative skills as they design their own role- play food using play dough. n Staff give high priority to safety. They carry out risk assessments daily to remove any hazards. Security arrangements are implemented and known by children. For instance, children know where to go when they play outside. Staff maintain good attendance registers to show when children arrive and depart from the club. n Staff demonstrate warm and caring relationships with children. They play alongside children to help them settle quickly and feel confident in the club.
