23 October 2019 to say. The childminder encourages children to use their home language. n The childminder and her assistants are very kind and caring. They gently reassure babies with cuddles and carefully follow their routines from home. They are alert to the individual signs of babies being sleepy and talk to them gently about what they are doing, for instance during nappy changes. Babies are confident to explore the environment knowing that a trusted adult is nearby if needed. They delight in demonstrating their early walking skills in comfort and safety. n Children happily come together for whole-group activities, such as story time. Older children are particularly engaged by such activities, and they delight in singing along to well-known books, such as 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. However, occasionally, staff do not adapt their teaching skills to take full account of the interests of the youngest children in the setting. This means that these
