p.1
The provision is good
The childminder provides a home-from-home environment for children that is safe and nurturing. Children who are new to the setting quickly form strong attachments to her. She uses her many years of experience as a registered childminder to support children's learning and development by tailoring activities to meet children's needs and interests. However, she does not have a targeted programme of professional development in place to help raise the quality of teaching further. Children's physical development is promoted well. For example, the childminder helps babies to develop strength in their bodies in preparation for walking. She knows what they enjoy playing with and interacts well with them to support their language development. The childminder manages behaviour effectively to help children develop an understanding of what is expected of them.
