The focus on children's well-being, and attention to providing high-quality sensory experiences, is a strength of the childminder. She meticulously plans and provides a rich array of activities that challenge children's learning to the optimum. Children are encouraged to see, hear, feel and smell as they explore their senses. For example, using chiffon scarves, children thoroughly enjoy recreating a 'colourful rainbow'. They demonstrate dexterity as they carefully work, with the childminder, knotting the scarves together. Children show their growing independence as they set up a music player and select their favourite songs. They dance, jump and glide around, swirling the scarves above their head. Children proudly talk about the many different colours of their 'rainbow' to the childminder and other children.
