This provision is outstanding

n Children have significantly close and trusting bonds with the childminder. She helps them to settle extremely well and gathers an abundance of information about their needs and requirements. Children display praiseworthy levels of emotional security. n The childminder makes superb use of her robust tracking and monitoring of children's progress. She is highly responsive and reactive to gaps in children's learning and in providing the highest level of additional support. For example, health visitors help to complete the required progress checks, to provide children with optimal collaborative working towards their future development. n Partnerships with parents are inspiring and the childminder holds these in high regard. She constantly speaks to parents to involve them in all aspects of their children's care and development. Parents feel very lucky and blessed to have their children in such a 'professional' and 'outstanding' provision.

They are very patient and kind and are thriving under the gentle guidance and highly consistent practice of the childminder. n Children are excited and enthralled learners. The childminder meticulously plans for further challenges in their learning and in the opportunities she provides. For instance, babies explore with shapes and their senses by placing their hands on a 'light box'. Older children gain superb new problem-solving and investigative skills as they place discs together to create new variations of colours. n The childminder provides first-rate opportunities for children to explore in the outdoors and to build on their awareness of their immediate community and the wider world around them. They go on regular woodland walks and to the beach, and this helps children to receive rich and varied experiences in their learning.

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

Children are extremely keen and excited learners. They are supported to have superb teaching and focus to increase their communication and language. Children become immersed in stories as they play with 'story stones' to recreate scenes to build on their memory and recall skills. The childminder holds admirable skills in how she adapts her teaching towards the different ages of the children. For instance, she helps younger children to count items as they play and older children are learning the concepts of 'addition' and subtraction' to help them to develop impressive increasing mathematical skills. The childminder helps children to be wonderfully imaginative and to build on their extraordinary creative minds. Children play with superb natural resources to pretend to be shopkeepers and thrive under the questioning techniques of the childminder to build on their extensive vocabulary.

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

The childminder is diligent in how she encourages children to develop formidable levels of independence. All children show impressive perseverance in their willingness to try new things by themselves. The childminder is nurturing and provides a breathtakingly calm and organised provision. Children make informed choices in their play and this helps them to build remarkable levels of self-esteem and confidence in their own unique abilities and personal likes. Children have superb opportunities to be physically active. For example, babies move around the strategically planned play environments to build on their first steps and older children take more risks as they negotiate slides.
