This provision is good
n The childminder and her co-childminder work very well together. They take on clear roles and complement each other's strengths. This aids the smooth running of the setting and contributes to their strong parent partnerships. n Children are supported well in their communication and language development. For example, the childminder engages children in regular conversations and uses clear pronunciation as she introduces them to new words. She spends time reading children stories that they have chosen. n The childminder facilitates an extremely safe environment for children to take risks in their play. For example, outdoors, children run at speed, practise balancing on bouncy hoppers and learn how to climb and descend the steps of the play-house ladder. n Children show exceptional care and concern for others, and older children quickly recognise when they can assist and support the younger children. The childminder is

highly skilled and sensitive in her approach in teaching children how others may require different levels of care. This enables children themselves to promote an inclusive environment. n Children develop increasingly high levels of confidence and self-control. Young children happily sing the songs they have learnt and relish the chance to perform to an audience. Older children learn how to compromise and work through a solution within their relationships. n Parents have high praise for the childminder and are extremely happy with the care and stability she provides for their children. They comment on her home-cooked, nutritious meals, continuous flexibility to meet their needs, and informative daily updates about children's progress. n The childminder does not precisely review her programme of professional development in order to enhance her teaching and help extend children's progress even further.

p.2
Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder regularly updates her knowledge of child protection issues and the signs that may indicate a child who is at risk of harm. She knows the correct procedures to follow to ensure children's welfare. The childminder holds a valid first-aid certificate and values her previous medical experience. This helps her to swiftly identify and respond to any health issues that children may present with. The childminder welcomes the views of her co-childminder, parents and children to help her reflect on the provision and support positive change.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The qualified and experienced childminder knows the children well and uses effective methods of observation and assessment to support their good progress. She notes children's interests and plans a range of challenging activities in line with these. This encourages children to take part and develop new skills. The childminder swiftly recognises children's capabilities and adapts her focus to ensure the learning intention for each child is achievable. Children enjoy naming colours and begin to use the language of size. For example, they listen carefully to the childminder as she encourages them to find her a large red bus and then a small white car. Children revel in her praise for their achievements.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children's health and welfare is significantly enhanced through the nurturing warmth of the childminder's care. They develop an extremely close bond with the childminder and her family and show they feel very settled and secure. Parents recognise the high level of support their children benefit from and the positive impact this has on their children's emotional well-being. The childminder prioritises this continuity of care for each family. For example, she ensures she can accommodate future siblings, often reserving them a space for some time in advance. The childminder places an extremely strong focus on ensuring children remain safe through her vigilant policies and procedures. For instance, she considers each food ingredient that she offers to children and conducts extensive research to ensure these are prepared and served in the safest possible way.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are working comfortably within the range of development typical for their age. They show a motivation to learn and follow instructions well. Children have a very good understanding of how to keep themselves safe and are extremely independent. For example, young children competently prepare their sandwiches for lunch and show control as they pour their own drinks. Children are well prepared for the next stage in their learning.
