This monitoring visit
On 16 May 2019 a monitoring visit took place. Concerns were raised about the service. The provider acknowledged the concerns and asked for a variation to the home’s conditions of registration. As a result, the home was temporarily closed. This allowed the organisation time to make the necessary improvements.
p.1
This monitoring visit
At this monitoring visit, the inspector found no children residing at the home. The last child left on 11 April 2019. There is a condition of registration which requires the registered person to inform Ofsted of their intention to admit children and young people three months before a child or young person will commence living at the home. This visit was conducted after the manager informed Ofsted of their intention to admit children and young people.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The registered manager resigned from the home on 26 April 2019. A new manager was appointed on 1 July 2019. She is suitably qualified and is currently in the process of registering with Ofsted. The manager has safely recruited additional staff. These improved arrangements ensure that there are now enough suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff to care for children and young people.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The last inspection identified shortfalls in the quality of the home’s environment. The management team has taken action to improve this. The home has been completely redecorated throughout. New furniture, including sofas, a dining table Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: SC020607 2 and chairs, have replaced the old ones. A new blind in the bathroom provides more privacy, bedrooms have new carpets and hazards in the garden area have been removed. As a result, the home now provides a warm, welcoming and inviting place to live, work and visit.
p.1
This monitoring visit
At the last inspection, Ofsted found shortfalls with the home’s statement of purpose. The manager has remedied this to ensure that the statement of purpose now includes all of the required information.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Monitoring of the home has improved. The manager has redevised the area location risk assessment to better explore the emerging risks in the community. Feedback about the location of the home has also been requested from external agencies. This information helps the manager to better assess the suitability of the home’s location.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The manager maintains the home to a good standard. Monitoring of fire safety measures, and other health and safety matters, is robust and in accordance with relevant guidance, policy and procedures. This routine monitoring ensures that the home is safe.
