The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder is knowledgeable about the signs of harm and neglect and the local procedures to follow if she is concerned about a child in her care. Self-evaluation is highly effective. The childminder uses this to focus sharply on professional development opportunities to broaden her knowledge and skills. For example, she is building a very broad awareness of the wider safeguarding issues, including the 'Prevent' duty, female genital mutilation and breast binding. The childminder has also identified through evaluating her practice the potential for children's learning to be enhanced outdoors even further. Children's safety is her highest priority. The childminder prides herself in ensuring that children are constantly supervised. Policies and procedures for the safe and efficient management of her provision effectively reflect her ethos of care.

Children are extremely confident and self-assured. The childminder skilfully supports children's use of language. She asks open-ended questions to encourage children's recall and support their problem-solving skills and thought processes. Young children eagerly share their own ideas and things they know. For example, they recognise different shapes and acknowledge what they can do to dough to make it look like spiders. Activities capture children's imaginations and spark their natural curiosity to learn, and children show high levels of concentration.

Time spent gradually settling into her care ensures that children feel safe and secure. Children enjoy plenty of fresh air and exercise. They relish spending time outdoors enhancing their physical development. Nutritious snacks and meals support children's health and well-being. Children develop independence from an early age. For example, they learn the importance of washing their hands at appropriate times and become confident in getting dressed for playing outside.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children make excellent progress from their individual starting points. Their enthusiasm is infectious, and they are motivated to learn. Children show high levels of concentration. They use their small-muscle skills well to manipulate and squeeze materials, for example making dough into different shapes and using small cutting tools to make worms. Children use their language extremely well to recall familiar events and experiences. For example, they recognise the different sounds cars make and recall how 'daddy fixes cars'. The vast amount of resources nurture and extend children's imagination. They mix things such as mud and water together, adding fern off the tree to their pretend stew. Children learn the essential skills that they need in readiness for the move on to nursery or school.
