Children are happy, emotionally secure and settled in her care. They display confidence and show a strong sense of belonging. n The childminder does not sharply evaluate the quality of teaching. She does not precisely identify professional development opportunities to help to raise her good teaching further and support even better outcomes for children. n Occasionally, the childminder misses opportunities to extend children's literacy skills. For example, she does not consistently help them to understand that we read and write from left to right.
