This provision is good
n The new manager has worked hard to address the actions raised at the last inspection. For example, recruitment and selection procedures have been reviewed. Improvements implemented, now help to ensure that children are safe. n The new manager has implemented a good cycle of performance management to help improve staff's quality of teaching. This means that any underperformance is addressed swiftly and helps children make good progress. n Staff are deployed well across the setting. Those with more experience help to support and guide those with less experience very well. This helps to raise the quality of teaching. n Children are confident and happy. Their self-help skills are well developed. For example, they go to the bathroom to wash their hands and they serve their lunch competently. They scoop out portions and put food onto their plate with ease. n The baby room has some low-level furniture and resources. However, the lack of

suitable equipment means that opportunities for babies to develop their physical skills are limited, particularly for those who are starting to learn how to stand up. n Partnership with parents is a key strength of staff's practice. They engage parents in their children's learning and regularly provide activities for parents to complete with their children at home. n Staff do not consistently provide highly challenging activities that help children to make the best possible progress.

Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
The new manager evaluates the setting well. She has implemented necessary improvements, including embedding a very good system to help track the progress children make. This enables her to identify gaps in children's learning rapidly. She seeks the support of specialist services for those children who need additional support. Safeguarding is effective. Staff are trained well and are knowledgeable about procedures to follow if they have a concern about a child's welfare. Risk assessments are thorough, and procedures such as regular fire drills help to keep children safe. The manager keeps accurate and comprehensive records, such as children's attendance registers.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff are addressing recommendations raised at the last inspection. Staff use various activities that help children to develop their understanding of letter names and sounds. Children are confident in naming the initial letter of their names. Teaching overall is good, and staff introduce activities designed to cover all areas of learning in the early years. Staff introduce mathematical terms naturally into play and children learn about size, shape and number. The outdoor areas are very well equipped. Children use the climbing wall confidently and manage their own risks. They assess their own safety as they balance along wet planks. Staff regularly provide access to a broad range of natural resources outdoors. Children plant vegetables and care for and collect eggs from chickens, to further support their understanding of the world they live in.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are happy and settle well into routines. Babies have formed good bonds with staff in their room and seek comfort from them when upset. Children are independent. They wash and dry their hands without support from staff and attempt to put their own coats on. Staff celebrate children's smallest achievements and offer praise and encouragement constantly. This helps children to become confident and boosts their self- esteem. Children learn about differences in people. They play with masks depicting differing nationalities and discuss freely the various colours of the faces. Children know which foods are good for them. They talk about the vegetables they grow and eat to make 'strong muscles'.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress from their starting points. Staff interact positively with children, which helps children's communication and language skills to develop. Children use good vocabulary to describe textures and they enjoy making letter shapes in shaving foam to develop their early writing skills. Children are confident in their own abilities and are keen learners. They are prepared well for their next stages of learning and the eventual move to school.
