Effectiveness of leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder evaluates her practice exceptionally well and she takes into account the views of parents and children. She identifies priorities to develop her provision further. For example, she recognises the potential to enhance children's learning even more by using loose-part materials, such as recycled and natural resources. She has addressed the recommendation from the previous inspection especially well. For example, she has built on opportunities to help children solve problems to further extend their learning. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder's comprehensive knowledge of procedures and current safeguarding practice is up to date and she places an exceptional focus on children's safety and well-being.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder has an excellent understanding of how young children learn through active play and exploration. She expertly challenges children to make discoveries in their play. For example, children had a wonderful time mixing paint colours in puddles outdoors. The childminder encouraged them to experiment and make predictions, deepening their understanding of cause and effect. The childminder engages children in highly stimulating discussions to understand why things happen in the natural word. For instance, she encouraged children to consider what the seeds they planted in the garden needed to help them grow.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder frequently takes children on a wide range of very interesting outings to extend their learning. They meet other people and develop an excellent understanding of the world around them. Children are remarkably well supported in learning about keeping themselves healthy. For instance, they play outdoors in all weathers and have excellent opportunities to be physically active. Children relish taking part in yoga sessions to further enhance their physical skills. Children form particularly strong relationships with the childminder and develop immense confidence. She seeks in-depth information from parents about their home routines and people who are important to them to ensure she knows their children thoroughly. Children are exceptionally motivated with high levels of independence and self-esteem.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
All children, including those learning English as an additional language, make substantial and sustained progress consistently in all areas of learning. They show high levels of interest and curiosity, become deeply absorbed in activities and are highly motivated to explore their ideas thoroughly. For example, children comment that they have not yet finished their work when there is to be a change in the routine. They develop incredible imaginations, and they use open-ended resources innovatively to support their play. For example, a table and chair became a house of sticks as they acted out the story of the three little pigs. Children gain superb mathematical skills, recognising and naming numerals confidently. They are extremely well supported to become very independent learners and are exceptionally well prepared to develop the skills for future learning and school.
